Overall Purpose of Role

DCM Latin America (DCM LatAm) has a broad mandate, covering clients across all industries and credit spectrum (IG and HY), with a particular focus on Mexico. DCM LatAm helps clients to fulfil capital needs and optimize their capital structure using a broad spectrum of financial instruments and securities, including balance sheet commitments and structured loans. DCM LatAm actively covers clients to identify, structure and execute transactions that best meet the client’s needs, including capital markets alternatives or bespoke loan structures. LatAm DCM also works closely with Banking industry teams, M&A, Risk Solutions Group and other Global Capital Markets bankers (including Liability Management), as well as Trading, to provide holistic coverage and to drive cross-selling opportunities. Bankers joining this group should have a strong interest in capital and loan markets, in general. Candidates should be prepared to engage with clients at an early point in their careers as the group handles significant interaction with clients regarding their ongoing financing needs.


Key Accountabilities

  • Support senior bankers in origination, syndication and execution of capital and loan market product transactions, driving cross-selling across products
  • Work closely with other product and industry groups within fixed income and investment banking to provide holistic coverage and drive cross-selling opportunities
  • Track, compile and distribute relevant transaction information; prepare and distribute market commentary and economic updates; prepare client presentations and analysis related to all aspects of debt market financing broadly
  • Assist in all aspects of execution, including completing due diligence, generating committee memos, sales memos, transaction timelines, coordinating roadshows, transaction document review and management, helping maintain order books, and liaise with the operations department to facilitate settlement activities
  • Participates effectively in discussions and meetings with clients and internal teams
  • Show ability to work on multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and handle pressure well
  • Manage transactions in a confident manner and communicate clearly with the different work teams involved
  • Communicate viewpoints and work product in an organized, concise, and persuasive manner
