Role Introduction


Reports to: Head of Lifestyle Japan/Korea
Location/Country: Seoul/Korea
Job Level: B
Employment Type: 2-year contract (subject to conversion to permanent based on individual's performance)

We are looking for a passionate individual to join our Customer Relations & Retail team in Seoul. The successful candidate is expected to tap into the highly potential lifestyle market opportunities in Korea and grow the lifestyle business by working with the Head of Lifestyle Japan/Korea and the local Cathay teams in Korea.

Key Responsibilities


Business Strategy and Planning

  • Help to formulate and drive business strategy for Korea with the regional office to meet the agreed lifestyle objectives, support lifestyle priorities and achieve the lifestyle growth and revenue targets
  • Monitor and review local business performance to meet strategic growth plans
  • Propose new ideas and areas of improvement based on own knowledge of the local market, research and available consumer insights and lead change to support future business strategy
  • Monitor the relevant budget expenditures


Lifestyle Partnerships

  • Develop and manage local partnerships under the key lifestyle pillars, including payment, holidays, shopping, wellness and dining according to the Region’s Lifestyle objective to provide a network of partners to engage Cathay members through accrual and redemption propositions
  • Manage relationships with partners and support operational requirements including commercial term negotiation, responding to partner enquiries, and entering contracts with partners as required
  • Negotiate commercial offers for marketing promotions and campaigns to increase awareness of local partner propositions


Coordination with the local team

  • Work with relevant Cathay teams including digital sales, marketing and business development to expand Cathay’s travel and lifestyle propositions in the local market
  • Any other reasonable task as requested


Legal Compliance

  • Work with the legal team in head office as required and local legal counsel to operate the lifestyle business in full compliance with local business and legal requirements, and facilitate the application of necessary licenses as required


E&A

  • Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required

Requirements


Academic Qualifications

  • University degree in Marketing, Business Studies or a related discipline

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant working experience, preferably with 3 years in a partnership position
  • A background in marketing, ecommerce, banking or loyalty is an advantage.
  • Strong commercial mind-set with a good understanding of loyalty and rewards
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Good marketing sense with a good grasp and understanding of consumer insights
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Korean
  • Good team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Displays creativeness, dynamism and innovation
  • Independent, detail-oriented and able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
